All religions the same

Aren’t All Religions Basically the Same?

All religions are clearly not the same. For one thing they fundamentally define the gods they worship differently. They have a different concept of the afterlife. Ten out of the top eleven world religions teach that "good deeds" are necessary to arrive at or positively proceed into the afterlife. In contrast, the Bible teaches that arriving in heaven and gaining an eternal relationship with God doesn't require "doing" anything, except humbly receiving the His "grace".

Those who follow Jesus Christ recognize that He claimed to be the Son of God. No other major religious leader made such a claim. Buddha claimed to be a great teacher, Mohammed claimed to be a prophet, Hinduism teachers merely claim to have written wisdom about their gods. But Jesus Christ alone claimed to be the Son of God—unmistakingly a claim of deity.

The most important distinctive of Christianity is the Bible’s claims that Jesus rose from the dead. If Jesus is alive today, then Christianity is unique among all the world religions. But if He didn’t rise from the dead, then by the Apostle Paul’s own admission, Christianity should be dismissed and ignored. The Bible says, "…if the resurrection didn't happen, then following Jesus would be meaningless, and we of all men are to be pitied." Christianity stands or falls not on a philosophy of life, but on a single historical event. This is unique among all the religions of the world and is clear evidence that all religions are not the same.
