Breeann's Musical Journey

I was asked several years ago to record some original music. I have been writing songs since I was young and sharing them in churches, conferences and small groups. My best friend, Jake, and I started laying down some tracks in 2008. Recently, the full length CD was completed and I’m excited to share it! The CD is entitled “Dream Dreams.”

The songs portray my deep struggles, and deeper than that, God’s love and hope. I want to be honest in my writing. Honesty is so crucial and we can’t overlook the pain in our lives. God is using our pain to move us to Him in incredibly powerful ways. This reminds me of Linda Ludwig’s journey with cancer.  She purposed to communicate this to me and that is why “Dream Dreams” is dedicated to her.

I am changed because of Linda’s transparency and hope. She challenged me to set my heart on the truths of scripture, namely that I am valuable to God and that I have a purpose. My song “Vulnerable” encapsulates this message. I have often struggled to believe God’s love and kindness towards me. While I know that God is merciful and gracious, it is easier for me to believe that these gifts are for everyone else and not for me. This is a lie that I allowed to penetrate my heart and mind and I am now on a journey to take hold of the truth… to take God at His Word. We must, by faith, cling to what is true. Pray for me, please, that my faith would be deeply rooted.

I value the times Linda and I were able to talk after Veritas on Friday nights. She loved sharing God’s faithfulness with me, stories great and small of God working in her life. I am inspired to do the same. She was an example of the Proverbs 31 woman who feared the Lord and recognized that the qualities of inner beauty far exceed what is external. She consistently encouraged me and other women to focus on that.

So a few months ago I decided that I wasn’t going to sell my CDs.  I want this whole project to be a ministry…
