2010 has now past and yet it provides us with an opportunity to look back at the year in awe and humility and it also provides an opportunity to look to the new year with hope and anticipation. With the loss of our beloved Linda, comes a sense of losing a wife, a mom, a friend, and to the ministry, a true co-laborer. Linda was committed to sharing the Good News and participating in the lives of those who had chosen to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. She was a thoughtful listener who invested time into those who needed hope, encouragement and biblical wisdom. Although she will be missed, we are excited to see her again in heaven where we will all rejoice together at our Father’s throne.
Taking care of Linda became Dave’s primary focus through out much of 2010. Since their house often became our office during that period it was truly a privilege for me to be around her. As you would expect planning for 2011 took a back seat during this time. Recently, Dave and I have been able to regroup and refocus on the many opportunities available to him and the ministry of Quest. We have found ourselves excited and humbled by these opportunities and plans…a few of these include:
•Dave has been able to resume meeting weekly with six men.
•Dave has begun to write his first book focusing on the “Priesthood of the Believer”.
•We have initiated plans to establish a Quest associate program.
•Dave has set in motion an outreach on “Heaven” in his neighborhood in honor of Linda
•The Veritas ministry on Friday nights continues to bring together young adults to study God’s word.
•We have resumed our Impact ministry on Facebook and through emails.
•We plan to redesign our 8 week discipleship package.
•Dave has begun planning workshops on outreach/evangelism with local fellowships.
There are many other new opportunities we look forward to working on this new year, but our greatest hope is that we honor our Lord in our attitudes daily and that we give our lives to what Jesus found most important - “people”. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for Dave and the ministry of Quest - we are truly blessed by each and every one of you.
Sincerely in Christ,
Christopher Perry
